Heart broken

I got some sad news today. The mom of the kids I nanny for told me she is quiting her job. She was really sweet about it and was crying when she told me. It's killing me. I'm really not worried about finding a new job but I am so attached to these kids. I love them so much. How could I not? They are wonderful and smart and great kids and I am there Monday-Friday 9-5 taking care of them. Jennifer (the mom/my boss) told me that the other day Matthew the 4 y/0 asked if I was family. Oh it's just killing me knowing that I wont see them everyday and be there teaching them and watching them learn and grow. Emily is just adorable and precious. She 13 months and it is such a fun age. She is learning and growing so much. Just with in the last couple of days she has discovered baby dolls. She'll pick it up and pat its back. She tries to put things in their hands too. It's so cute!! Oh I love them so much. Don't get me wrong I'm glad that mom will be home with them now. The kids will be so happy but I'll miss getting there every morning and Matthew getting a big smile on his face and saying "Mandy's here!" I'll miss little Emily and her cute facial expressions and the little baby songs she sings all day long and the animal noises she makes so well. I'll miss her reaching her arms up as high as she can so I'll pick her up. I'll miss her signing "more" not only when she wants more of something but when she wants anything. I'll miss Matthew wanting to play starwars all day long and his enthusiasm for doing his school work and getting so excited when he accomplishes something and gets a sticker. I'll miss all the questions he asks and hearing him just state random facts. A few weeks ago he told me that seahorses are the only creatures that the male carries the babies. He's such a smartie pants! I'll miss playing the Backyardagains memory game with him and getting dominated by the 4 y/o. I could go on and on but I wont. I just want to say that I love those kids as if they we're mine. They we're like my pretend kids. I took care of them like a mom all day but then left in the evening :) Rob and I even stayed for a couple of weekends and watched the kids. It was a blast.

I have 3 weeks left so that will be good to have some more time with them left. I'm not even going to think about my last day. Too sad.....

New jobs

Rob and I have been working our new jobs for a few weeks now. Mine is wonderful!! I'm a nanny for a 4 year old boy and a soon to be one year old girl. They are so sweet!! It is hard work though. I don't think people (men) other then moms' or people who have nannied full time really understand how much work it is. I seriously don't sit down all day. Keeping up with a very energetic boy and walking baby doesn't leave much time for sitting. I'm lucky if I get to get a meal. I LOVE it though. I love taking care of them and playing with them. I love that they are comfortable with me now and that when Emily is fussy because she is getting 8 teeth that she will come up to me and reach her arms up for me to hold her. I love that when I get there every morning Matthew gets excited and says, "Mandy is here!!!" I've found a job where I'm happy and content and look forward to going to each day.
Rob's job isn't so great on the other hand. He is a Special Response Officer which is pretty much a step higher then a security guard. He goes and patrols buildings. He isn't armed and really doesn't get to do anything. The worst part is the hours. Night shift, Midnight-8 am. And the other shift, 3p.m-11p.m. Those hours aren't so bad. It is just so hard not getting to spend time together! His days off are days that I'm working. We were so grateful to be able to eat dinner together a few nights ago that he had off. Luckily though, it is just temporary. He signed up for an EMT class!! We are so excited for him to take this and then become and EMT!! This will hopefully really help his goal of being a police officer!!

We had an awsome honeymoon! We went to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We got to stay at an amazing resort right across the street from the resort. The weather wasn't that great the first few days we we're there but we we're able to go out and jetskii in the warn atlantic ocean on our last day there. Here our some pictures from our stay there.

We did it!!

We're married!! May 29th, 2009, was the most amazing day of my life! I got no sleep the night before so getting up for my 8 a.m hair appointment was a little tough but the excitement took over the tiredness. So my maid of honor took me to Gene Juarez and my hair turned out amazing!! I am always a little skeptical about getting my hair done for an event because it could end up looking horrible but luckily mine did not. Ok, off the a good start. Then it was time to go home try to force myself to eat something so that I wouldn't pass out and then my mom and I we're going to get out makeup done. Ok to make a long story short, I looked like a 60 year old angry hooker. And that's putting it lightly. So I go home, panic and freak out a little bit because I had packed all my stuff up and had it over at out apartment. How could I wash my face and re-do my make up with out my face wash and make up?!?!? Rob was wonderful and drove my stuff over to my moms so I was able to wash it all off and do it myself. It looked really good too. Thank goodness. Lesson learned: Never getting my makeup done. EVER!!! Anyway, Hair was done, makeup was done it was time to head over to the temple with my mom. I wasn't nervous just very anxious and shakey. (that was probably because I only had one bite of pop tart that morning) We got to the temple and changed and we were ready. The sealing was so amazing. I don't have words to describe it. It was just amazing. So many family and friends we're there to support us. It was incredible. The rest of the day consisted of 973,648,723,648,723,649,823,947 pictures ;) lots of hugs and thank yous'. It was the happiest day of my life. It honestly could not have been better. A HUUUUGGGEEEE thanks to my amazing mother for making the whole thing happen. I love you mom!! And thanks to everyone who came and family and friends who traveled all the way to Washington to be there for us!!

Cutest thing EVER!!

So last night I was in the living room with my mom and Rob was with Mack in his bedroom. So we can hear Rob playing Mack's guitar and they're just joking around making up songs and stuff and then we hear them actually working on a song. It was so cute to hear Rob and Mack singing together and using each others ideas. Here's the litte diddly they wrote together..... (Keep in mind, my little brother wrote most of the song, he's 9)

How funny/depressing is that? :) The funny part is Mack or Rob never had a pet guinea pig. Rob is so awsome with Mack. It was just the sweetest thing listening to them jam together. What a good brother-in-law =]

Officer Ganem =)

Rob had his police officer exam today. The way it works is you go in and take the written exam and if you pass it you take the physical exam right after. So this morning Rob came over really early because his test was at 8 a.m in Seattle which is about a half hour away from my house. So he came over I made him some eggs (brain food) he ate and then left. I got a call around 1 this afternoon and he told me that he passed the written exam!!!! He said that everything he studied was on the test. He was able to answer each question confidently! He took the physical part an hour after he passed the written and totally smoked it!!! He had to do push ups, sit ups, and run. He did so amazing!! I am so proud of him!! Now we just wait for a letter in the mail telling him what to do next. The next step is back round tests and things like that which Rob will be totally fine with. He has never, smoked, drank, done drugs and never had a ticket. He has a clean back round obviously =) I'm so grateful for Rob's faith and determination. This is something he really really wants to do and he will. It has been great to see the gospel play apart in this too. We have been praying hard about this and Rob was able to get a wonderful blessing last night from one of our friends from the ward. We have been blessed so much and recognize Heavenly Fathers hand in all of it.

It's official!!

We have our apartment!!!!!!!!!!! We looked around at tons of apartments and couldn't find any that we totally loved until we went to the Providence Apartments in Bothell. Okay we totally fell in love with them. We looked at them about a month ago and then went back today and reserved ours!! They are so nice! We're so excited! Rob moves in May 9th, the same day I take out my endowments :) and then I'll move in once we're married! Everything is just falling into place. We are so blessed.

Cake please!!!

Okay we totally scored!! We have been talking about our wedding cake for awhile now and just haven't known where to get it. So my mom was talking to one of her friends and she gave her a name of a lady she knows who does wedding cakes. Well the lady was my moms young womens leader back in the day! So my mom called her and set up a time for us to go and talk to her. It was so awsome! She had samples for us to taste....already off to a good start, then we looked through her pictures of all the cakes she has done and they are amazing and beautiful! So Rob and I got to design our own cake and tell her exactly what she wants. The cake is going to be so beautiful! Okay here is the amazing part....She is only charging us a hundred bucks!! For the whole things!! And this cake is going to be legit. It's not like it's just some lady from relief society that is interested in cakes. This lady does this as a business!! We feel so blessed! It's like a miracle!! It is so nice to check that off the list and not have to worry about a huge expense! YAY CAKE!!!!!

Growing up...

OH MY GOODNESS!!! 10 weeks until we get married!!!! Seriously?? The time is flying by!! We're so excited. It's really stessful though. Rob and I are really having to budget. I know everything will be okay but it's hard. I know that it's good for us though and it is really teaching us a lot. We've been able to grow closer because of it too. I guess it's giving us a taste of what's to come over the years.

Planning so far...

So we're getting married in a little over 2 months. The planning is going pretty well. We've got our date and time set at the temple, our reception venue, and honeymoon.I have my dress and bridesmaid dressed and flower girl dresses. we're working on invitations right now. Rob and I found the perfect apartment. He'll probably move in mid-may and then I will after we're married. We got a really nice free couch from another couple in the ward and we bought our bed today!! We got an amazing deal! We're so pumped!
Rob's brother Andrew is here in town this week. He got in late Friday night. We're having a blast hanging out with him. I'm glad Rob is getting to spend some time with him too. It's so fun having another family now. Rob's family is awsome.
